Gallery OUT of PLACEは、CADAN有楽町にて、
「建築のヴィジュアリティ Architectural Visuality by 5 artists」（写真、平面絵画、陶立体、mixed media）を開催いたします。
同タイトルの展覧会を、同じコンセプトのもと昨年末から今年1月まで奈良で開催いたしましたが、
展示作品を大幅に入れ替えての作品展となっています。
いわゆる建築家が、実際の地球上のある場所に建てる（建てた）構造物を、仮に「実存建築」と名付けるとしよう。
その一方で、ならば美術家を魅了し彼らが想像し描き出す構造物は「仮想建築」となるのかもしれない。
その間にあるのが写真家によって実際の建造物から切り取られた（トリミングされた）表象で、それらは「写真建築」と呼べるのかもしれない。
あらかじめ断っておくが、「実存建築」「仮想建築」「写真建築」は筆者の造語であり、「実存建築」は実在する建築を意味しないし、「仮想建築」とは言っても空間を持たないわけではない。そして当然ながら「写真建築」は「建築写真」とは全く違う概念である。
住めない建築、不条理な仮想空間などをキーワードに、
ル・コルビュジエの建築を多く撮り、独自のトリミングを施し発表し続けたルシアン・エルヴェ、
実在のドーム建築を抽象化し、銀塩写真の独特の階調を絵画に持ち込む上須元徳、
建造物の重厚で荒々しいテクスチャーと複雑な構造を陶で表現する嶋田ケンジ、
自作のミニチュアを写真に撮り、虚実が交錯する空間を表現する寺田真由美、
「飛ぶ家」をテーマに3Dと2Dの間を行き来するmixed mediaの鷲津民子、
以上の５作家の秀作、逸品を紹介いたします。
どうかこの機に、５作家による建築的異空間をお楽しみください。
Gallery OUT of PLACE is very pleased to announce a new exhibition “Architectural Visuality by 5 artists”
(photography, painting, sculpture, mixed media) by 5 artists in March - April period @CADAN Yurakucho.
This exhibition has the same title as the one held in Nara from the end of last year to January this year.
The works on display have been substantially replaced in this exhibition.
Let's say that the structures that so-called architects build in a real place on earth are called "existential architecture" .
On the other hand, the structures that fascinate artists and that they imagine and draw may be "virtual architecture" .
In between would be the "photo architecture" trimmed from actual buildings by photographers.
I would like to point out that "existential architecture," "virtual architecture," and "photographic architecture" are terms coined by the author.
Existential architecture" does not mean real architecture, "virtual architecture" does not mean without space,
and of course "photographic architecture" is a completely different concept from "architectural photography.
The keywords are "uninhabitable architecture" and "absurd virtual space" .
Lucien Hervé, who has been taking pictures of Corbusier's architecture and trimming them in his own unique way, and
Motonori Kamisu, who abstracts real dome architecture and brings the gradation of silver halide photography into his paintings,
Kenji Shimada expresses the rough texture and complex structure of buildings with ceramics.
Mayumi Terada, who takes photographs of miniatures of her own work and expresses a space where falsehood and reality intersect.
Finally, we will introduce five artists: Tamiko Washizu of mixed media, who moves between 3D and 2D on the theme of "flying house" .
These five artists will be introduced.
Please take this opportunity to enjoy the different architectural spaces created by five artists.
